OCASA reps wanted:
OCASA, and the individual student representatives that make up the OCASA committee, act as a bridge between students and the OCA. Our aim is to consult with the college and influence developments to continually improve the student experience. We’re also here to encourage interaction between students. To achieve these things we do, of course, need willing volunteers!
Our current Textiles representative, Miriam Ward , has been with OCASA since September 2013 and played a key role in the first OCASA student survey. However, she is stepping down at the end of September, so we are on the lookout for a new volunteer from among Textiles students. It doesn’t matter where you are in your studies, or if you have previous experience of committees or being a representative – the most important thing is enthusiasm. If you are interested please contact Nigel Monckton (firstname.lastname@example.org). If we have more than one candidate we will hold a short election process.
We have also created the new role of Accessibility rep – to help us and the OCA understand the concerns of students with access issues – physical, psychological or neurological. We already have one willing volunteer in Claire Borlase, a Level 1 Photography student. As this is an area the OCA intend to develop in the coming year and work has already started, the committee have co-opted Claire to kick-start OCASA’s involvement. However, if there are other willing volunteers with relevant experience, we would be very happy to hear from you. As above, if you are interested please contact Nigel Monckton (email@example.com) and if we have more than one candidate we will hold a short election process.
