Election for Fine Art Student Representative

adminocasa March 21, 2017     No Comment

We have a vacancy for the Fine Art student representative role for which Patricia Karsten has put her name forward and you can see her biography details below. The role will be open for one week until the 28th March 2017 for anyone else to register their interest with the OCASA President at president@ocasa.org.uk. If no further interest is logged then Patricia will become the representative for Fine Art after the 28th March 2017.

Patricia Karsten

Born and raised in Germany, I currently live and work in New York. I have a background in IT and Psychology and have been studying with OCA since 2012 towards a Painting degree. Studying art with OCA provides a way to balance work life and the search for a personally meaningful existence, although it is not always easy to find enough time for coursework. When I first started with OCA, I wanted to develop as a painter, taking up the wish from my youth to become an artist. Over time, I discovered interest in other Fine Arts areas too, like printmaking and sculpture.

As OCASA Fine Art student representative, I’d like to help improving student experience in general and with the online learning environment. I bring to this some IT knowledge plus many years of experience as a distance education student. I also share the situation of many mature students of juggling studies with working for a living.
