We have a number of representative roles that have recently become vacant within the OCASA committee as detailed below. We are in exciting times for the OCA post the merger with the UCA, the 30th anniversary celebrations and new courses at both the foundation and degree level being introduced. If you are interested in being part of this and in making a difference to the way students experience the OCA then please contact me at president@ocasa.org.uk for more information.
Music and Treasurer Representative
Traditionally the Music representative role has encompassed the treasurer role for the committee. Our longstanding committee member, Martin Richardson, is now standing down as his OCA studies are, sadly for us, due to be completed by the end of March 2018. We would like to invite applications for either a joint Music and Treasurer role or applications for separate Music and Treasurer roles. Martin has kindly offered to train the new treasurer so you do not need to be concerned that you would have to learn from scratch.
Fine Art and Art History Representative
Our previous representative in this role helped us to make great strides in taking over the OCASA study visit budget and associated processes and in Patricia Karsten’s short time with the committee she achieved a lot. The representative for these areas will be covering over 50% of the student population within the OCA and so your representation activities would be contributing to helping a large number of students to a better way of working in their studies.
Visual Communications Representative
We have recently lost a further longstanding member of the committee, Brian O’Carroll, and our thanks to him for his work in this role. Again if you are interested in taking up this role please contact me.
Creative Arts Representative
This role has been vacant for some time now so if you would like to ensure your voice is being represented on the committee and to the OCA apply for the role now !
