Further to the post advertising this role a few weeks ago we now have a volunteer candidate, Holly Woodward, and you can find her details below:
I am an early retiree and photography student, and am doing the third of my Level 1 courses, Identity and Place. My interest in applying for the OCASA Communications role stems from my enthusiasm in connecting with other OCA students. I set up and currently run the OCA Photography Level 1 Facebook page, which has provided an active and supportive participatory forum for students. I am also a regular attender of the Thames Valley Group and OCA study visits as well as having organised casual student led study visits to other exhibitions.
I firmly believe that the OCA student experience is improved when students connect and collaborate with each other – it is so much easier to ask for advice and feedback, and to offer the same when students have met or talked on line. Distance learning can be a lonely experience without this interaction and I am keen to help find ways of enabling students to feel involved in the OCA, and to have a voice as the College moves into a new phase of its life with the merger with the University of the Creative Arts.
The role will be open for one week until the 12th April 2017 for anyone else to register their interest with the OCASA President at firstname.lastname@example.org. If no further interest is logged by the closing date Holly will become the new Communications representative from the beginning on May 2017.
