If you have an idea for an event that you know other students are interested in and you would like a helping hand towards the costs involved, then please get in touch with your subject rep for a chat before making a funding application as described below. We can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to help everyone, as funds are limited, but please talk to us and we’ll see what we can do. Events should be open to all OCA students and, if numbers are limited, be on a first come, first served basis.
Some ideas for the kinds of things you might like to arrange include:
- craft-making / music-making events
- gallery / exhibition / concert / theatre visits
- book groups
- organised lectures / seminars
- social networking activities
- participation in a local arts event
- student-run workshops / creative group projects
The OCA has students all over the world, and we’d like as many students as possible to be included, so if at all possible please also try to arrange something online that’s related to your activity so that anyone can join in, such as sharing photos, videos or recordings online alongside a discussion. For example, someone present at the event could do a Q & A session after the event in an OCA forum or on Twitter.
