About the Event

Glitch is a charity committed to making the online space safe for all by working to end online abuse. They do this by mobilising, educating and inspiring everyone that has a role to play - from individuals and communities, to holding governments and tech platforms to account - with a focus on the disproportionate impact online abuse has on Black women and other marginalised people.

We can all play our part. It starts with us, now.

Online Active Bystander 1.5-hour workshop

It is not the sole responsibility of the victims of online abuse to protect themselves and deal with its lasting effects. This module will introduce learners to the role of an Online Active Bystander and support them to identify actions to address harmful online behaviours and support victims of online abuse.

By the end of the module participants will be able to:

  • Describe the role of an Online Active Bystander
  • Identify 5 actions to take in response to witnessing abuse online
  • Explore personal boundaries of being an Online Active Bystander
