Using botanically dyed threads and fibres (using kitchen cupboard materials such as tea, coffee, turmeric, beetroot), I created this piece with embroidery (colonial knots) and rug hooking techniques. It represents my wormery, showing how food waste is broken down by the worms into smaller and smaller pieces, becoming useable compost. It sits on a background of eco printed calico. You can see how it was made at Worm’s Eye View – Interactions – Sue Lucas 1.3 Creative Arts Dimensions (oca.ac.uk)
