edge-zine is a non-profit, student-led, art publication showcasing various artistic approaches. It supports cross-disciplinary works of an international collective of students and alumni of the Open College of the Arts.

The mission is simple: to showcase work and provide insights into the process of contemporary art practices. We consider edge-zine as an evolving and developing publication and a platform for creative approaches.

Founded in 2016, edge-zine began with the idea of bringing the creations of students who live apart, together.

Issue 17 - Protest - Open for Submissions

The theme for Issue 17 is ‘Protest’. We welcome ideas, sketches, works-in progress, writing, images and music. Released quarterly OCA students, alumni and staff are encouraged to submit work to be published in our digital zine.

Submissions are now open and guidance can be found here.

Please note submissions close 1 April 2026.

We are also looking for student volunteers to participate in the selection process for the edge zine Protest Issue. For more information on the role and to submit your interest please complete the google form here. There will be further opportunities for students to get involved as we grow the zine and its identity.
