About the Event

About the Session

Join us for a facilitated afternoon of collaborative making, conversation and meaning making.

You’ll be supported to make work in response to another person’s work and will also get some practice in being about to explain your point of view and how it relates to your art practice so far.

The workshop will support your learning on your course by showing how you work with others and by supporting you to further develop your critical thinking skills.

What Do I Need to Bring?

  • A piece of work that you’re happy to share with others. This will be the starting point for them to make a new piece of work.
  • Materials that you can make a new piece of work with. You’ll have about 1 hour to work on this piece.
  • A notebook or piece of paper to write down reflections and thoughts.

Please let us know if you have any accessibility needs that we need to take into consideration. You can contact us on studyevents@oca.ac.uk

Who Are the Facilitators

The workshop will be facilitated by Kuljit who is in the final stages of his Creative Arts degree. Outside of the course, Kuljit is an experienced group facilitator, educator and he works in the charity and mental health sectors.

Kuljit will be supported by Joanne Mulvihill-Allen, one of OCA's Quality Managers, and a familiar name to those who attend OCASA study events. Joanne has a degree in Fine Art and a Masters in Art Education.

You can view a short Q&A between Joanne and Kuljit about Kuljit's work and learning journey here.

Padlet

This workshop will have its own Padlet page where you can share your work in preparation for the workshop and also document any of your thoughts after the workshop has finished.

We will be provided a list of varied resources, videos and artworks that you can use now and in the future when you are thinking about your point of view and how it relates to your practice.

We will share this with attendees ahead of the event.

Everyone is welcome from across the OCA community!
