I swear I saw this - MA Fine Art Showcase 2022

After two years of study, OCA's MA Fine Art students will open their graduating exhibition to the public on Thursday 15 December with a private view online at 16.00.

Their highly refined work ranges across all media and displays their deep engagement with subjects such as politics, climate change, personal memory, feminism, materialism and archives. 

The exhibition, entitled I swear I saw this, brings together this work in the online sphere through an exhibition website which will be accessible after the private view.

This student cohort are based across the world, in locations such as Singapore and the Netherlands, the UK and Australia, and their tenacity and endeavour has enabled rich exchanges that have transcended time and distance to enable cross-cultural debate to form part of their thinking. 

They have engaged in seminars, delivered presentations, questioned texts (and then written or made work from them), made coherent and persuasive arguments, taken part in simultaneous studio sessions, written exhibition reviews and more. 

They have demanded much of themselves and worked to ambitious aims which are borne out in their exhibition which evidences the extremely high level of work that they have made. Their work and practices show the ways in which they have made work that engages with, and comments on their curiosity and deep thinking about the world we live in.
