About the Event
Join OCA tutor Bryan Eccleshall to explore how we might document and describe our creative methods. In the session Bryan will talk a little about his own method in relation to collecting and processing material before suggesting ways to ‘map’ or lay out creative methods in a visual way. Attendees will then be invited to work out a rough map of their own, which will then be shared, discussed, and – perhaps – revised.
This workshop should be of interest to students across all disciplines and levels. Seeing what others come up with and discussing the results is an excellent way to understand how our practices might be enriched. If time allows, we could develop some collaborative maps, too.
You will need whatever material you feel you’d like to work with. That could be drawing materials, post-it notes, and/or glue and scissors and stuff to cut up or even thread/string to make networks of textiles. You might feel that software is more appropriate. As long as we can share what is made, it doesn’t matter.
Bryan has been a Painting / Drawing / Fine Art tutor with the OCA for over a decade.
