OCA Big Draw 2026: Mark, Place, Memory

Within this exploratory session, you will expand upon your memories of a place through a range of guided, practical drawing tasks.

The day will begin with an informative talk introducing the history of Land Art, its concerns and key figures, providing a conceptual foundation for the exploratory activities that follow.

Together, will work through a series of guided exercises that centre on a place of personal significance. Working specifically from memory, tuning into senses, emotions and feelings to produce a range of drawing and generative outcomes that will act as starting points for further development.

Through discussion, individual problem-solving and exploration, you will realise a range of hypothetical Land Art inspired interruptions that would alter or leave a temporary impression on your chosen place, inspired by your sensorial memories.
