About the Event

Join this online session for an informal and relaxed session where we will be exploring ways to observe, translate and react to various stimuli through an open approach to drawing. Drawing doesn’t have to be just pencil to paper, it can involve a wide and varied approach using a multitude of materials to translate your reference points and ideas. It can sometimes be overwhelming to think about how you might want to extract particular elements from primary research or reference points within a creative context, so Faye will encourage you to respond to examples of visuals, sound and film in a quick, reactive way that can often displace any over-thinking or "getting started" anxieties!

You will be working through a series of short tasks and responding to the stimuli through your chosen areas of drawing (3D, collage, stitch, paint, ink, material manipulation), as well as taking pauses to offer and receive considered feedback. Please come to the session with an open mind, drawing materials, drawing surfaces and a selection of tools and materials. Suggested materials include: papers of different weights/colours/qualities, tissue, card, string, fabric, discarded packaging- or anything else that makes you feel curious! Your tools may include: scissors, needles, craft knives, glue and your drawing media may include: pencils, inks, paints, pens, markers, charcoal.

RSVP to receive the joining link.
