OCA Photography Social Group: Lucy Soutter

For our next event we are very pleased to welcome London based artist, critic, historian and academic Dr Lucy Soutter.  This online event is on Wednesday 14th October at 18:30 BST

In this talk Lucy will discuss the work she is doing to update the third edition of her book Why Art Photography? It is forcing her to think about what is happening in current art photography production, reception and market that is specifically different from what was happening in 2017 and 2012 when she submitted the previous two editions. Some of the biggest differences are to do with the shifting role of theory within a globalised art world, the impact of new imaging technologies, and changes within the relationship between art and commercial culture.
