About the Event
For our next event we are pleased to welcome Dana Popa to speak to us on Wednesday 13th May at 18:30 BST
Dana is a London based documentary photographer working mostly in Eastern Europe and the United Kingdom. She specialises in contemporary social issues, with a particular emphasis on human rights. She will be talking about the social issues that fuel her work, the visual narratives within her photographic practice and how the voice of the subjects she photographs give shape to her long-term projects.
Dana’s work has been exhibited in solo shows in the U.K. at the Impressions Gallery, Photo8 Gallery and Photofusion London, as well as in multiple international group shows. Her photographs are part of various museums' permanent collections, including Musee de l'Elysee, Portland Art Museum, Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts, Southeast Museum of Photography Florida, International Slavery Museum Liverpool, Kunstforum Ostdeutsche Galerie, and MNAC Bucharest.
