OCA Student Talk: Anna Pike

Please join stage 3 OCA painting student Anna Pike on Tuesday 19th May at 6pm. Anna will discuss her painting practice, her OCA journey and her experience of curating a degree show.

Throughout my work there is a deep, intimate connection with the natural environment and its never-ending cycles of change. I challenge our disconnect with nature and natural processes, exploring decay and liminality as sites of both transformation and philosophical ideas of ‘becoming’. I create contemplative works instigating mediation between presence and absence; the known and the unknown; beauty and aversion and ultimately, between life and death. By dwelling in the in-betweens, new possibilities can emerge.
