OCA Student Talk: Samantha Watkins

Samantha makes paintings, drawings and assemblages using found objects which provoke thoughts and feelings. Her work is about the personal attachments people hold with objects that represent or suggest stories from the past and different places and occasions. Her inspiration comes from the melancholy emotion and memories that can be provoked in charity and antique shops; such as a personal experience of seeing a blue and white striped jug her grandmother used to have on the breakfast table or an old orange enamel teapot belonging in her childhood family home.

Please join Samantha and her tutor Clare for a talk and discussion about Samantha's experience of Stage Three study and successfully exhibiting a series of paintings in a beautiful venue that is part of Reading museum.
