Photography Social Group - Dan Robinson: A creative journey - art, writing, collaboration and place.

Please join us on Wednesday 10th July at 18:30 BST for our monthly Photography Social Group event for a talk by Dan Robinson entitled "A creative journey - art, writing, collaboration and place."

Dan Robinson is the OCA Program Leader Photography & Moving Image.

His creative practice spans disciplines—photography, writing, installation, drawing, sculpture and sound, often with a focus on place. As an artist, writer, curator, educator and course developer, he is curious about collaboration and artistic process applied to different situations. He has made creative work ‘in residence’ for organisations, buildings and spaces often with materials and voices found in-situ, including nature reserves, a derelict farmhouse, a swimming pool, allotments, a town hall, underground station and art schools in the UK and Europe. HIs PhD was in site-specific art practice as dialogue.

Please note that Dan is joining us as a visiting speaker and will not be answering questions related to OCA in general, OCA courses or individual study concerns.

Did you know we've started to run informal sessions through our Discord Channel?  They are held every first and last Thursday of the month starting at 13:00 BST for about 30 minutes.  It's an opportunity to get some feedback from your peers on any work or pictures.  We hope this will be a convenient fill in for anybody working to a deadline who doesn't want to wait for sessions run by Les to come around although for some projects you need to use these sessions so Les can sign off the project as being completed.  They will be run in Study Room 1 as drop-in sessions so no need to book a slot.

Everyone is Welcome!

'Open Mic' - Following the presentation at each meeting there will be a 30 minute informal 'open mic' session for those who wish to discuss the presentation further, photography in general, or the Photography Social Group.7:30 pm - 8:00 pm
