Marc Wilson: The Last Stand, A Wounded Landscape, and Remnants

Join us for a talk by photographer Marc Wilson who has published four photo books: The Last Stand (2010-2014), Travelogue 1 (2015-2018), A Wounded Landscape (2015-2021) and Remnants (2021-2022) and been featured in solo exhibitions at the Side Gallery in Newcastle, The Royal Armouries Museum, the Focal Point Gallery and Spazio Klien in Italy. He has also featured in group shows including those at The Photographers' Gallery and the Association of Photographers Gallery in London, and internationally at The Athens PhotoFestival and Tel Aviv Museum of Art. In addition to exhibitions, Marc has also been published in journals and magazines such as National Geographic, FT Weekend, Wired, Raw magazine, The British Journal of Photography, and Dezeen.

The Last Stand and Remnants bear a relation to each other by documenting the forts and concrete structures from Hitler's Atlantic Wall and World War I which now blend with the landscape. A Wounded Landscape, bearing witness to the Holocaust, features photographs of and interviews with survivors and family members of survivors including Wilson’s own mother.

About the Photography Social Group

'Open Mic' - Following the presentation at each meeting there will be a 30 minute informal 'open mic' catch up for those that wish to discuss any other issues related to the event, general photography or the Photography Social Group itself. 7:30 pm - 8:00 pm
