About the Event

In the last couple of years, much has been discussed, argued and fought over with the prevailing “gender wars.” In this session, we go back to the basics and unpack key terms, such as distinguishing between sex, gender, gender identity and gender expression, to name a few. What is the difference between being gender inclusive as opposed to gender neutral? Are they one in the same or if not, how do they differ? What are the benefits and limitations of using either and what does the Equality Act say about what is protected, under sex, sexual orientation and gender reassignment?

Join this session to learn about:

• Sex vs Gender/Nature vs Nurture

• Femininity/Masculinity/Non-Binary

• Gender inclusive or gender neutral

• LGBTQI+ terminology

• What is inclusive language?

• Using pronouns and intersectionality

• Converging and departing points between feminism and trans theory

• Single sex spaces/inclusive spaces
