Analysing Art Workshop
What does it mean to analyse a work of art, and how can this process inform and enrich your creative practice? In this interactive workshop, Adam Thompson, OCA Senior Academic Manager, will introduce a range of approaches to art analysis, offering a structured framework for examining meaning, context, and interpretation of creative practices.
Through a series of guided prompts and reflective questions, you will explore strategies for developing critical and contextual awareness. These methods will be applied collectively to a selected artwork during the session, via a shared Padlet space, providing an opportunity to practise analytical and critical thinking in a supportive group setting. The session will also highlight how such strategies can be adapted for use in your learning log posts, reflective writing, and wider research practice.
