SVF25: Getting Started With Printmaking At Home Without A Press

During this 2 hour workshop, you will see three techniques demonstrated that you can easily achieve at home without a press.  I will demonstrate gel-plate monoprint, trace monoprint and linocut techniques.  If you want to join in, bring the following or else just sit back and watch:

• Gel printing - a gel plate, a small brayer / roller (approx 2 to 3 inches), acrylic paint and some paper (e.g. A4 printer paper).  Some leaves, plant material or lace.  A 6x6 inch gel plate from amazon costs around £20 (UK price)

• Trace monoprint - an acrylic or glass sheet, about A4 size; a brayer / roller and some black lino ink; a pen or sharp pencil; a drawing and some thin paper (e.g. A4 printer paper)

• Linocut - some Easy-cut or lino (available from amazon); a brayer / roller; some black lino ink; paper to print onto; some tracing paper or…
