About the Event
What does it mean to analyse a work of art, and how can this process inform and enrich your own creative practice?
In this interactive workshop, Adam Thompson, OCA Senior Academic Manager, will introduce a range of approaches to art analysis, offering a structured framework for examining the meaning, context, and interpretation of artworks and creative practices.
The session is designed for new students, as well as those seeking a refresher or wishing to explore new ways of analysing art.
Through a series of guided prompts and reflective questions, you will develop strategies for enhancing your critical and contextual awareness. These approaches will be applied collectively to a selected artwork during the session via a shared Padlet space, providing an opportunity to practise analytical thinking and critical reflection in a supportive group environment.
The workshop will also explore how these methods can be adapted for use in learning log posts,…
