About the Event
This talk will form an overview of her recent work of artist and writer Kate Pickering. Pickering’s interests lie in how artists and creatives are revisiting the sacred in relation to questions of ecology and climate crisis. She is currently working on further research into fourteenth century writer and mystic Julian of Norwich as a proto-ecofeminist figure within Christian mystical tradition. It will cover Pickering’s site-based performances, the curation of a performance event titled ‘Ritual/Bodies’, and a short reading from her book in progress ‘There is a Miracle in Your Mouth’.
Kate Pickering is a London-based artist, writer, flexi-tutor at the OCA, lecturer at Kingston School of Art and associate lecturer in Fine Art at Goldsmiths.
