About the Event

The 12  lecture series is a new inititative for the 24/25 academic year. Each lecture will be delivered by a speaker chosen by each OCA Programme Leader as representative and relevant to their programme discipline(s).

Each month will see a lecture aligned to different disciplines, scheduled across one calendar year.

All the lectures will be open to all OCA students, across all levels and programmes, and delivered through OCASA as the hosting organisation.

The first presenter in our series is Daniel Bell who will speak to his experience of being an artist and his process of making work.

Daniel H Bell (b.1980) grew up in the West Midlands and currently lives in Edinburgh. He studied Fine Art (Painting and Drawing) at Glasgow School of Art, and Digital Practices at Norwich School of Art and Design. Since his MA, his practice has progressed through drawing, sculpture, model-making and stop-motion animation, before finally returning to painting. He has exhibited widely in recent years, and was shortlisted for the Contemporary British Painting Prize in 2022 and 2024. www.danielhbell.com @danielhbell_artist
