OCA-North Study Group
Trip to Leeds Art Gallery on Saturday 14th March
Meet at 11am for a coffee in the Tiled Hall Café in the gallery
We’re planning a visit to Leeds Art Gallery to see the exhibition Don’t Let’s Ask for the Moon. The show brings together a collection of atmospheric night-time paintings by the Victorian artist John Atkinson Grimshaw, alongside nocturnal works by four contemporary painters - Elizabeth Magill, Selma Makela, Judith Tucker, and Joanna Whittle - plus neon and photographic pieces by Roger Palmer.
We’ll also have time to look at the other exhibitions currently on at the gallery, followed by some lunch and a chance for some social time together.
Ideas for events in 2026
We had eight people at our recent Zoom meeting, which was great. We’ve now put together a programme of events for 2026, which we’re really looking forward to sharing with you:
Saturday 14th March: Leeds Art Gallery ‘Don’t Lets Ask The Moon’
Saturday 18th April: meet up in Knaresborough to share recent work we have made.
Tuesday 12th May: Whitworth Gallery, Manchester, where the OCA tutor Faye Hall will take us round the Delaine de Bas exhibition.
Friday 17th July: trip to London to see the Roya Academy Summer Exhibition

I'm planning to come along to say hello to this at 11am, but I have to be somewhere at 12.30 for a birthday lunch (in Leeds) so won't be able to attend for the full duration, is that okay?
