OCA North Study Trip to Sheffield Landscape Exhibitions with OCA tutor Joanna Whittle
Monday 8th December 2025
11.00 Persistence Works, 21 Brown Street, Sheffield, S1 2BS
Joanna Whittle is curating a large-scale landscape painting exhibition of 38 artists for Contemporary British Painting at Yorkshire Art Space. It’s an exciting exhibition with some amazing painters and paintings included, both from CBP and other artists working in the north and nationally. Joanna has offered to do a tour of the exhibition for us, then head off the Weston Park Museum for another tour of another exhibition she is involved in with her collective Heavy Water, Gathering Landscapes.
11am meet at Persistence Works
Would be great to get to know other students in the North
Hi everyone,
I've been a member of this group for some time and have only ever attended one study event quite a few years ago. I took some time away from my studies, however, I am about to start Stage 2 (HE5).
It would be great to get to know other students in the North, and hopefully to attend some future events. I'm based in Leeds, I work 4 days a week at my day job with a Tuesday for my full study day (as well as evenings)
Looking forward to being more engaged in the student community as I start the next stage of my studies.
Thanks for reading, and I would love to hear from others with what they are studying etc.
Hi Michelle, I live in between Sheffield and Barnsley, so not far from Leeds (or Holmfirth Clare) I am a quarter way through Painting Foundations and loving it. I retired this Summer so in theory have lots of time - a lot of it is being taken up with painting.
Jo Whittle is my tutor and Im really pleased to be able to meet up in person with her for this event. Hope to see you there.
