The Kahlo Collective

Public·60 members

Welcome to the group! You can connect with other members, get updates and share photos.

The Kahlo Collective is a group for students at all levels who are living with chronic pain. We run short group sessions which are a chance to get together and share work and experience. There is no pressure to present - if you would like to attend and join in the discussion or simply listen that's fine. The group originated in the Drawing department, with thanks to PL Emma Drye and to tutor Helen Rousseau who facilitates the sessions.

Today - Kahlo Collective, 19/01/26, 5-6pm

Learner Support Manager Lia Harness will be joining us to speak about Disabled Students Allowance and reasonable adjustments.

Please bring a range of drawing and writing material to the session.

The Kahlo Collective is a relaxed session of conversation and creativity for those students who are studying alongside a long term health condition and/or chronic pain.

You are welcome to join this session with your camera and mic turned off if you wish.

Struggling to keep track

Hi all, I'm very early on in my CA degree, just started 1.1 last month.

Something I'm struggling with is the sheer number of "things" we are supposed to remember to use. Our learning blog, Spaces, Padlets etc etc. Do we have to use Absolutely everything or is it more a case of use the things you find most useful?

Your message is a reminder of how I felt in the first months at OCA. You need to set up your learning log on Spaces, but everything else can wait. If you need help with that, reach out to the many groups (facebook) (Whatsapp). In despair I reached out on Facebook and a kind student talked me through something I was struggling with. You can find fellow students at group tutorials. Take your time, it is a marathon. One step at a time. Your Tutor will be able to guide you, make sure your first tutorials are face to face so you can have your questions answered. It is not easy studying alone but hang in there, trust the process. Five years in, and I am loving it.

Kahlo Collective 25/11/25, 5-6pm
