Everydays

We have been collaborating on a project entitled Everydays since 28 Feb 2024, when we decided to take a photo every day (of anything at all!), and use it as a way of sustaining and growing our practice as well as flexing our artistic muscle daily. We had been collaborating on book readings for a while but after reading about the Everyday project by the artist Beeple (Creativity Is Hustle: Make Something Every Day) we decided to try to do the same using Padlet as a way of posting and sharing.

After a few months this expanded to our photography cohort, it was wonderful to have this daily practice for ourselves and create something a little bit bigger. Recently we decided to see if we could make Everydays grow further. We set up a dedicated Threads account, @everydayscollective and asked those in the group to post their ‘Everydays’ there - to bring our offerings together in a single place. We wondered if anyone else from the wider OCA community would like to join in as well? You don’t need to be a photographer or be studying photography, for example you could take a photo of your work using your phone, or share some of the things which are influencing your work! If you don’t have a @threads account, you might have an instagram account - which automatically means you have access to a @threads account. You can also find us through an Instagram account we set up at @everydayscollective. The link to the threads account is in the bio there too.

All you need to do is take one photograph that day - of absolutely anything - and share it to that day's post on the @everydayscollective Threads account. If you aren’t familiar with the  platform just make sure you reply to @everydayscollective for the relevant day and not someone else’s reply to the post, otherwise yours won’t automatically be seen. If you can't commit to an Everyday post, then maybe just do some days, and if you don’t want to join in at all, maybe just support it and give it a follow or the occasional like/comment. Or share with others who you think might like to join and benefit.
