I discovered a great recycling place and source of cheap materials for creating, yesterday. It is at Sunnybank Mills Farsley, between Bradford and Leeds LS28 5UJ. Sunnybank Mills has art galleries and studios as well as various businesses in the complex. A whole floor is given over to selling items that would otherwise be thrown away.
All sorts of paper, card, cardboard tubes, sheets of plastic, wooden boxes, egg trays, fabric, yarn, thread, old patterns, plastic and foam, unusual large seeds/pods, bobbins, mannequins, art materials and things I don't know what they were for originally. It is an Aladdin's cave of stuff. I bought a bundle of 12 small pieces of plywood to paint on for £5. They also sell Bio D products.
Hi Helen, that sounds amazing! I think my nearest is over an hour away, but I will plan a trip at some point. Although I'll have to be really good not to buy too much!
