Collecting and Using Source Material: A Practical Workshop with Bryan Eccleshall
Join OCA Tutor Bryan Eccleshall for a session of improvisation, collaboration and invention. After Bryan explains a little about how he selects or generates motifs for his work we will then use his source material - large scrapbook pages full of drawings, doodles, photographs - to generate new work. This workshop is designed to help students break away from ideas of 'preciousness' or action-hampering overthinking. While Bryan comes from a Fine Art / Drawing / Painting background, this workshop ought to be useful to anyone working with images. Even if you don't struggle to make work, taking part in a different and carefree approach to making should provide you with food for thought and with some attitudes you can carry back to your own practice.
Come prepared to make a bit of a mess. If you have paper, glue, felt tips, coloured paper and so on, bring them along.
