During the first COVID lockdown OCA Tutor Bryan Eccleshall made a series of short videos about art practice and uploaded them to Facebook and Instagram. They tackled all sorts of issues, based on whatever occurred to him. There was no real plan, but a lot of the films dealt with issues he had encountered while tutoring for OCA for about eight years.
Bryan will be presenting a few of these videos as the basis for a wider discussion about art practice and how it might be maintained, enlivened, or re-booted in a discursive workshop at Dean Clough on Sunday June 19th. This workshop should be suitable for students of all levels and across all disciplines as it will focus on developing ways to think about creativity and practice that are invigorating and not terrifying.
If you would like to bring work to share and discuss please do so. Bryan will guide us in speaking about it in terms of momentum and possibility (i.e. where a piece might lead to), rather than critique it as finished work.
All OCA students are welcome, wherever you live, the only criteria is you can travel to the venue. The room is on ground level.
